Chat Room 21/10/16 - Singapore Fried Hokkien Prawn Noodle

Singapore Hokkien Prawn Noodle

Most people like Singapore Hokkien Prawn Noodle, and i am one of them! There are a few stalls in Singapore sell tasty Hokkien Prawn Noodle, below are two stalls which are quite near to my place which i love and would like to share it with you!

Ming Yun stall at Aljunied Ave 2 hawker centre

Ming Yun Fried Hokkien Prawn Noodle  :

-  located at Aljunied Ave 2 hawker centre, Blk 117, Stall #01-12, the stall owner is Kai Ming, he was featured in the TV show called "Makan Place" hosted by Gurmit Sigh and his fellow co-host. I have tried his noodle a few times and no complaint about it, the taste is satisfying, and guess what? You can get it for as low as $3 per plate, take away is $4, compare to most stalls selling at minimum of $4. For $3, the portion is just nice! He sells Mee Siam too.

My verdict for Ming Yun Fried Hokkien Prawn Noodle :
Taste :  4/5
Portion & Ingredients :  4/5
Price :  5/5

Nam Sing stall at Old Airport hawker centre

Next, i would like to introduce you to my all time favorite stall......... Nam Sing Hokkien Prawn noodle stall.
Nam Sing Fried Hokkien Prawn Noodle :
- located at the Old Airport Road hawker centre, Stall : #01-32, the minimum per plate is $4, the taste is slightly stronger compare to Ming Yun, you can taste the gravy of the prawn and a little sweetness,  the portion of both of the stalls are ok actually. The only thing i am a bit disappointed is the attitude of the staff...... you see, sometimes they have big order for taking away as many as 10 packets, once i went there and ordered a small plate of $4, i saw many packets for taking away lying around there, and the staff told me "we don't sell $4 hor, if you want minimum is $5!" He then threw one of packets to me, it's like telling me to take it or leave, he was rude! Then  i said "uncle, but your price tag says you have $4 ler, how come you can not sell me the $4?"  He was reluctant and pulled his long face, then the cook stretched his head out and told me "miss you want $4 right, ok now i am cooking the $4 one for you!" (sorry it's "Singlish")

I believe that uncle was not in a good mood, probably someone has made the order of $5 each for about 10 packets but never came to pay and collect the food, so the uncle tried to push out the ready packed of $5 per pack to me........

My verdict for Nam Sing Fried Hokkien Noodle :
Taste :  5/5
Portian/Ingredients :  4/5
Price :  4/5
