Broccoli has been proven in helping against cancer and heart disease with its' substances sulforaphane and indole-3-carbinol. According to the study, sulforaphane kills the bacteria called H.Pylori which causes ulcer and increases the risk of gastric cancer. Indole-3-carbinol helps our body metabolize estrogen.
Other than anti cancer, broccoli is also antioxidant, good for your detox diet, it is also anti stress, good for heart, skin, nerves, muscles, anaemia and fatigue, it blocks genetic damage and avoid birth defects. The fiber in broccoli can slow down body's release of blood sugar for long lasting energy.
Surprisingly, broccoli has more protein than meat! Meat has 5.4g of protein in 100 calories while broccoli has 11.2g! So it's ok to cut down the intake of meat as you can gain protein from the green!!
